  • 2021 Scholarship Applications
    Updated On: Apr 01, 2021

The Fort Smith Fraternal Order of Police is proud to offer student scholarships to eligible children of lodge members, in good standing. Scholarships will be awarded to beginning freshmen and other existing college students continuing their education. The number and amount of scholarships awarded will depend on funds available each year. Scholarships may be used at any institution of higher education to defray expenses directly related to academics, to include: tuition, books, fees, and room & board.

To be eligible for a scholarship, the parent of the applicant must be a member, in good standing, with the Fort Smith Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 39. Applications will be sent to the membership via email and will be available for download on the Fort Smith Fraternal Order of Police web site (www.foplodge39.org).

There are two applications. One is labeled “2021 Beginning Student Application”, and the other is labeled “2021 Returning Student Application.” Please make sure the correct application is used.

Applications that do not meet eligibility and requirements, or comply with all instructions, will be rejected. You will NOT receive any notice requesting corrections or additional information for the initial application.

    1. Applications (and accompanying documents) may be scanned and emailed or hand delivered to Secretary Anthony Parkinson (anthony.parkinson@foplodge39.org).

    1. Criteria for Selection: The scholarship committee will consider scholastic achievement and excellence, extracurricular activities, community service, honors, awards, G.P.A. and ACT score as points of consideration in the selection process.

    1. Applicants chosen for the FOP scholarship will receive a letter announcing the award through their parent. Scholarship funds will be made payable to the recipient and dispersed through their parent.

    1. A total of ten (10) $500 scholarships will be awarded. We will set aside five (5) for beginning students and five (5) for returning students. In the event we have less than five (5) applications for either category the unused scholarship(s) will shift to the other category.
